Connecticut is the 2nd richest state in the country but our capitol (Hartford) is the second poorest city in the country.
On my drive to my internship in Hartford, whenever I take the backroads I always have to drive through the richest neighborhoods which eventually lead me to the boarded up ghettos which eventually leads me to Real Art Ways where there have been 3 shootings in the neighborhood in the past 3 days.

So much hair and heat. Haven’t straightened my hair in almost a year or put chemicals in it for months now. Just been using organic shampoo/conditioner and been snipping off the ends every few months. Healthiest it’s been in years.

Ever feel like you were apart of something majestic but didn’t notice it at the time and you only realize the grandness of this event after it happened? Then you tilt your head back and laugh from the core as the realization dawns on you and feel foolish for not noticing it in the present but that’s what makes it better because you were able to feel it all at that time.

That time a few friends and I hiked the Franconia Trail in the White Mountains with 50 lbs on our back and there was a cabin along the trail that served canned mushroom soup and brownies and apples and cold water and some fellow backpacker gave me granola bars and it was the best meal of my life.

Stop being naive. I don’t know what you’re expecting but people hurting each other is nothing new. Sickness, disease, hate, violence. It’s always been here. Are babies born with evil inside or do we learn evil as we grow?
All I know is that I’m trying to stay true and focusing on spreading positivity and love everywhere I go, staying open but not believing every little thing someone tells me or the news tells me or the man on the street yelling to no one but to everyone tells me. You can’t save every one in the world but you can be kind to everyone you meet.
